Impact

Together, We Make a
Difference

We are focused on building resilient, impact-driven agricultural supply chains. By creating ecosystems around fonio and soybean value chains, we are confident in the ability to achieve measurable positive impacts on underserved communities. Boosting Guinea's position to develop a vibrant industry around fonio is central to this mission. In 2024, we invested $500,000, in local communities around the country. These efforts have already had tangible effects: we partnered with 1,400 farmers (72% women) across the country and initial impact studies show that fewer women are migrating to mining areas post-harvest, resulting in family stability and social cohesion. Our joint efforts led to the purchase of 600 metric tons of fonio directly from smallholders. Additionally, we signed a tripartite MoU with Agence Guinéenne de Promotion des Exportations (AGUIPEX, s/t Ministry of Commerce and Industry), underscoring our commitment to creating local value. In parallel, we partnered with the Institut de Recherche Agronomique de Guinée (s/t Ministry of Agriculture) to conduct a soybeans pilot across all Guinean regions. To ensure the promotion of women's leadership and economic position, we are collaborating with researchers from Michigan State University to build supply chain projects centered on women's participation.

Traceability

How does it work?

Every bag of fonio is traceable back to its source, ensuring accountability and trust. Using digital platforms and GIS tools, we track fonio's journey from farm to table while ensuring sustainable, deforestation-free production. Use this form or click on a pin on the map to trace where your fonio came from.
